Episode 1 of 3

Eddie Wallis is a pilot the Royal Air Force, desperate to fight for his country but is forced out after a crash landing in a Blenheim bomber leaves him suffering from blackouts. Eddie turns to his passion for jazz music to make a living.

Meanwhile, Eric Trapp runs his own private detective agency by conducting shady investigations in underworld circles. Eric is also a musician and plays double bass.

Eddie and Eric are thrown together through their musical talents. With Eric on double bass and Eddie on the saxophone the unlikely duo join the Ray Smiles troupe of ageing musicians and military rejects.

The hilarious and untimely disappearance of Bing Williams, one of Ray Smiles’ key resident jazz singers, leaves the way open for Eddie and Eric to take centre stage – but there is only room for one star!
